Valicha, a web portal for Cusco, has added a collaboration between Moment editors, Vicente Revilla (photographs), and Jean-Jacques Decoster (text). Included are 7 of Revilla’s black and white photographs of the spiritual travelers on the sacred mountain. The annual event draws thousands of Peruvians to the glaciers. Decoster outlines the historical and religious context of the pilgrimage and the elaborate representations of material needs left in the alpine terrain.
